Beginning this week I will be publishing a series of in-depth interviews with several competitors, founding fathers & event officials, know as 'Legends of the DRD.'
In an effort to encourage smack talk & public ridicule on an unprecedented scale, (directed at the interview subject or Austrian Steve), I will allow unregulated comments under each interview.
First Up:
Wednesday April 2nd - 1 k Steeplechase record holder Bruce Amos Kite discusses life, liberty, & his amazing ability to answer a phone at one ring from 30 ft horizontal, 5 ft vertical during REM sleep.

New Arrival
The DRD Planning Commission would like to congratulate Brent Nieter & his wife Kim on the arrival of their first born:Blake Alan Nieter
[stats: 8 lbs, 12 oz., 21 in., mile PR: 6:03]
This now brings the list of potential DRD 2028 participants to 8 with 2 in the oven.
This is the breakdown:
As I recall we turned them down because no one knew Latin well-enough to figure out what a 12-event sport would be called...
Obviously we dodged a bullet there. Any event that would include "baby making" would be heavily weighted toward the Canadians & would have given them a clear advantage.

As of Saturday afternoon both mum & child were doing well.
This now brings the list of potential DRD 2028 participants to 8 with 2 in the oven.
This is the breakdown:
- Frosh Zealand - 3 with 1 on the way
- Mini-Zealand - 1 with 1 on the way
- Juggernaut DiCarlo - 1
- Michael Arnulf - 1
- Austrian Steve - 1
- Amos Kite - nil
- Khan-Man - nada [which is surprising considering all his wives & concubines]
- B. Ball-ard - nope

Constantine Has Reservations

The hotel reservations have been made.
Three top floor rooms have been reserved at The Wingate Inn just off campus. My request to temporarily rename the hotel: 'The Official Headquarters & Training Facility of the 2008 Distance Runner's Decathlon' was politely denied but I was assured that our rooms will overlook the "Steel Teat" otherwise known as the Vines Center.
Other amenities include:
- swimming pool
- breakfast [fit for a DRD Champion]
- wireless internet
- little bottles of shampoo
- close proximity to Liberty God-Parent Home [Ballard, Kite, Khan read "femininas with one in the oven"]

Official Invitations will be mailed out next week and will include pricing information, etc...
As always, you can direct questions to me jadicarlo@gmail.com or via mobile 443.366.2916.
PS John: I asked about the coffee machine and it has been fixed since early June 2002.

Retraction
Dear potential DRD participants and enthusiasts,
It has come to my attention that I may have made a gross error regarding all that Josh Zealand / DLP business. Apparently Austrian Steve was correct: the acronym 'DLP' stands for 'Distance Learning Program,' and does not pose a threat to the DRD 2008 or any other event for that matter.
My humblest apologies to Josh Zealand and the Distance Learning Program at Liberty University.
